Risk assessment

Please submit by Friday 9th January 2009.

Each Exhibitor MUST undertake a risk assessment prior to the exhibition, identifying the hazards present on-site and ways in which you will then minimise and control those hazards. All furniture and items brought with you on the day should be included within the risk assessment. If you have no hazards or risks present, mark ‘NO RISKS’ clearly on this form.

An assessment of risk is a careful examination of what, during the build, exhibition and break down of your stand could cause harm to other people. Weigh up whether you have taken enough precautions or should do more to prevent harm. The important aspect is whether a hazard is significant, and whether you have covered it by satisfactory precautions so the risk is small. Record your findings below:
I confirm that ICC Birmingham and / or organising staff may remove any exhibitor material from the ICC Birmingham on the event set up day evening or during the actual event if they feel it is a danger to the public or staff.

Who might be harmed:
What current control measures do you have in place to control the risks?
What further action is necessary to control risk?

PLEASE NOTE, THE ICC DO NOT PERMIT EXHIBITORS TO PROVIDE ANY FOOD/BEVERAGE FOR DELEGATE CONSUMPTION.
NB: As an exhibitor you have a legal requirement to assess risk appertaining to your participation in any exhibition. This form is intended as a guide only and completion does not absolve you from your legal responsibilities or transfer them to The ICC Birmingham, Social Enterprise Coalition or sub-contractors.
