Welcome
Welcome to the website of PSDI 2008, the 16th annual meeting for structural biologists working in the pharmaceutical industry. This year’s meeting, organised by GSK, will be held on Wednesday 12 - Friday 14 November at Hilton Stansted, half way between London and Cambridge. The venue provides good conference and exhibition facilities and benefits from convenient transport links.
Continuing the successful format of the previous meetings, we aim to make it a scientifically useful and socially enjoyable event, with two days of talks, discussions and social interactions away from other distractions.
The conference program will be themed around issues reflecting the ever increasing pace of change our industry experiences and the challenges it currently faces. One such theme is “Rescue Strategies” where we plan an exchange of ideas about “what to do when things do not work as hoped”; the other is “Looking into the future…”, with talks and discussions about new and anticipated ways structural biologists contribute to the discovery of new medicines. See the programme page for details.
The meeting will start mid-morning on Wednesday, 12th November and will formally finish with the conference dinner on Thursday, 13th. However, the exhibition area will also be available to the vendors and participants on the morning of Friday, 14th. Two-night accommodation and all meals are included in the conference fee of £340. This relatively modest fee has been possible thanks to the generous support from the exhibitors. Due to a limited number of places, registration will be on a first come, first served basis - please use the on-line form. Registration deadline is 26 September 2008.
For any registration and accommodation related queries contact the Conference Office (see details below), while for any programme suggestions get in touch with one of the organisers.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 12th November!
