EOA Conference 2011
Thursday 10 November 2011, Hilton Birmingham Metropole
Just under 300 delegates were at EOA's Conference at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Thursday 10 November – a record attendance for the annual event.
The Conference featured 30 sessions during day, more than two dozen speakers, a Question Time-style panel session hosted by BBC Business Correspondent Joe Lynam, and keynote speeches by John Lewis boss Charlie Mayfield and TV history presenter turned politician, Tristram Hunt, MP for Stoke on Trent Central and an adviser to Labour's policy review.
For the first time the event also featured an exhibition, with delegates able to visit stands showcasing a number of EOA member firms and their services. Among the exhibitors were principal sponsors Scott Bader, EOA founder members celebrating their 60th Anniversary. Their chairman, Richard Stillwell, was a keynote speaker during the conference, which was also supported by sponsors Coverdale, Baxi Partnership, Baker Tilly, Field Fisher Waterhouse and Postlethwaite & Co.
