For some considerable time many in the cremation and burial movement, especially suppliers of services and equipment, have been calling for the major cremation and burial organisations to join together and hold a single annual conference.  Faced with the prospect of several conferences it has become increasingly difficult financially for existing and potential delegates and suppliers to choose between conferences.

Following lengthy discussions between the major UK organisations representing those responsible for promoting the practice of cremation and burial they have agreed to forgo their annual conferences in order to join together in a single event.  We are therefore pleased to announce that the Cremation Society of Great Britain, the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities, the Association of Private Crematoria and the International Cremation Federation have joined together in support of a single conference and major exhibition for 2007.  Details of the conference can be found below:

Event: International Cremation & Burial Conference & Exhibition 2007

Exhibition Venue:
Hilton Newcastle Gateshead
Bottlebank
Gateshead
Newcastle-upon-Tyne

The conference will incorporate an international dimension and will be a unique event, so don’t miss this opportunity to give it your support and encourage greater on-going co-operation between cremation and burial organisations.

For our overseas colleagues why not join us on the way to Funéraire which is being held immediately after our conference.

NOTE:
The Cremation Society of Great Britain is the founder and pioneer of the cremation movement in the United Kingdom. It established the first crematorium in the UK and is a founder member of the International Cremation Federation.

The Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities represents 90% of all cremation authorities in the United Kingdom and has recently widened its scope to allow full membership of the FBCA to burial authorities.

The Association of Private Crematoria represents 75% of all private crematoria in the UK.  Nearly all new crematoria are being established by the private sector.

The International Cremation Federation was founded in London in 1937.  It is a worldwide organisation made up of members from some 24 countries and has NGO status (Roster) with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
